It's a good bit of work, but you can finish the main videos in 14 days. They bring up some high yield points through questions and I think that could be good to see if you've got the stuff down properly, like understanding MOAs of drugs or the pathology of a disease, and if you don't you can watch the Part 1 explanation videos. The questions they have in the prep book are different from the questions they have in the "Part 1" lectures that they have, which do not use the book. While it's not imperative to use, it can help to watch the videos and follow along in FA. I used FA here and there for classes, but never read it from cover to cover until DIT sort of walked me through it.
It helped me get acclimated with FA before I read it properly. Lots of people say it's basically FA being read back to you, and I agree, but it's also more than that. And that can be a problem if your study/prep time is short to begin with. It's something I would suggest doing early, but only after going throw FA with UW annotation first.
